About Marc
Marc, a versatile musician, is a solo cellist, drummer, pianist, and composer residing in the Los Angeles area. He studied cello performance at California State University, Northridge under Dr. Diane Roscetti. He is classically trained and has years of experience in Orchestras and chamber ensembles in Southern California. He has ventured off from the traditional classical route of cello and performs a variety of genres including rock, folk, hip-hop, contemporary, electronic dance, and experimental music.

Marc has performed live in many types of entertainment venues in Southern California, from the Alex Theatre in Glendale to The Smell in downtown LA. He also performs as a solo cellist regularly at weddings– ceremonies, cocktail hour, and dinner reception– corporate functions, and other special events. Aside from performing, he also works as a recording artist for different singer-song songwriters and plays cello and drums in his indie electronic group, Chills. He also teaches music at a music school in Manhattan Beach called Dietz Brothers Music. He educates and trains over 40 students individually a week.

What is the most beautiful piece of classical music?
There are hundreds of beautiful classical music pieces but our top classical pieces include Air from Suite in D (Bach), Jesu Joy of Man’s Desiring (Bach), Prelude and Gavotte (Bach), Spring (Vivaldi), Canon in D (Pachelbel), and Arioso (Bach). These pieces are often played at weddings during the prelude and postlude. Canon in D is also a popular bridal entrance song.
What do musicians wear to weddings?
Our musicians, including our Los Angeles Pop Violinist, Manoela, wear formal attire when they perform at weddings. Men wear black suit with tie while women wear formal black dresses/pantsuits. We can also accommodate requests for our musicians to dress according to a theme.
How many songs do you need for a 4 hour reception?
When musicians are hired for a four-hour wedding reception, they play music for 4 sets, with a set going on for 45 minutes each. A set of 45 minutes consist of about 15 songs, so for 4 sets, a list of 60 songs is recommended.
What are the examples of string instruments?
Classical string instruments include the violin, viola, cello, and double bass. These instruments produce sound when the strings vibrate, with the sound resonating in the body. String instruments are often played solo, in small groups, or in orchestras.

Important Outdoor Requirements

Please Provide Shade/Umbrella

  • We require a shade/umbrella for our musicians, instruments, and audio equipment. This is due to the extreme sensitivity of musical instruments to changes in temperature and exposure to sunlight and humidity. In some cases exposure to elements may lead to irreparable damage to the instruments.

Please Prepare a Covered/Dry Location in Case of Rain

  • We require a covered/dry location for our musicians, instruments, and audio equipment in case of rain. Exposure to water or humidity is damaging to our musical instruments and audio equipment. In some cases exposure to elements may lead to irreparable damage to the instruments.
 Please Provide Heater
  • We love playing outdoors but in lower temperatures please provide a heater for our musicians. Our musicians remain outdoors for more than an hour with an additional hour to set up before the appointment. The heater will keep them warm before and during their performance.

Thank you so much for enriching everyone’s experience during my mom’s memorial. Your team work made it possible for my mom to have a beautiful celebration.

Marc is an amazing cellist. He brought an extra depth in the celebration through his beautiful music. He is super easy to work with and and was super nimble in changing timing and plans as the occasion called for minor changes.

On behalf of my family, thank you so much for the rich and wonderful music.
